Our Story
Born from a stubborn belief that the best things are made by hand.
The Upstart Kitchen started with a simple question: what would a bakery look like if it put people first — not efficiency, not margins, but the actual taste of what's on your plate?
We opened our doors on Capehart Road with ovens that run long and slow, ingredients we can name by source, and a counter where your regular is always someone's name, not a number.
This is a place for the early risers who want their sourdough before the rush, the families grabbing dinner ingredients without sacrificing quality, and anyone who believes a neighborhood should have a kitchen worth coming home to.

Bakery
Every loaf, pastry, and batch is mixed, shaped, and baked in-house. We don't do frozen, we don't do shortcuts — we do fermentation, lamination, and the kind of patience that turns flour and water into something worth waking up for.
Sourdough & Hearth Breads
Our 24-hour fermented sourdough, ciabatta, fougasse, and seasonal loaves — each with its own crust, crumb, and character.
Pastries & Laminated Goods
Butter croissants, pain au chocolat, Danish, and seasonal fruit tarts — made from scratch every morning before the doors open.
Cakes & Celebration Bakes
Custom cakes, sheet cakes, and special-order sweets for birthdays, holidays, and the moments that matter — ordered at least 48 hours ahead.
Daily Sweets & Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies, brownies, muffins, danish, and rotating seasonal treats — always fresh, always limited, always the first thing to go.
